As a Swiftie, I’v been looking forward to @taylorswift’s 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, which she released on April 19, 2024. It wasn’t just a regular album, it was a double album (with The Anthology), spanning 31 songs and over two hours, with songwriting I was anxious to listen to and dissect. So, I wanted to give my opinions on TTPD on this week’s episode of If I’m Honest with Julia Landauer.   I explain what I particularly love about Taylor Swift’s songwriting, the pivotal song that broke down the fourth wall for me, and my ritual for listening to a new Taylor Swift album. I then dive into three songs that caught my attention on TTPD, one thing I really don’t like about Taylor Swift’s songwriting, and a specific lyric that marries Swifties and motorsports fans.
